Lane County Audubon is involved in community events for education and outreach. Here are some activities to join:

Volunteer Party Cecelia Hagen And Debbie Schlenoff

Fun at the Volunteer Appreciation Party

The Eugene Garden Club was buzzing on October 20, when 27 LCAS volunteers gathered to socialize and eat Mezza Luna pizza, salad, and cake (so many cakes!). Plus, everyone went home with the raffle prize of their choice!

Just a bit more than one month earlier, the board decided it was time to gather in person and honor the many volunteers that keep our organization going.

Habitat Haven Backyard

Habitat Haven Volunteering

We are delighted with how quickly participation in Lane Audubon’s Habitat Haven backyard certification program has grown. Our first site visit was on May 23rd of this year, and by August 31st our terrific volunteers had already completed 44 more!

If you’re interested, and you have experience with native plants, consider applying to become a volunteer. Forms are available on the Volunteer page.

Volunteers LaRue Rodgers And Robert Piersol

Volunteer Spotlight: LaRue Rodgers on the Trail of The Quail

Paper issues of The Quail don’t fly into readers’ hands—they arrive thanks to LaRue Rodgers and her husband, Robert Piersol. After it’s printed, they label and distribute each issue, while enjoying the happy companionship of their white terrier, Toto.
