Our November 3rd Saturday outing on 11/16 led by Vjera Thompson began at the Mill…
We had a cool, misty morning for our October’s Third Saturday Bird Outing at Luper Cemetery. Many large flocks of Cackling Geese were flying across the cloudy sky and one large flock landed in a nearby field. We saw a beautiful coyote crossing a field and pausing to take a look at us. Many birds were heard foraging in the dense brush and autumn leaves. Varied Thrush called from the trees. We observed Townsend’s Warblers, Black-capped Chickadees, American Kestrels, Northern Flickers, and a Black Phoebe. Rachael Friese did a wonderful job scouting this location and leading the outing.
There were 14 attendees at the outing. The coyote photo was taken there.
