Mr. Kenna’s student-led environmental club has transformed a space in the courtyard of Willamette High School into a pollinator garden! LCAS donated plants, soil, and compost for the garden, which now fills an area previously overgrown with bamboo.
LCAS vice president Barb Bryson spearheaded this project with Mr. Kenna as an outreach component of Habitat Haven.
Barb was out of town, so fellow Board member Cammi Ganshert went after her workday to help. Due to her experience with native landscaping, she thought it would be both fun and useful for her to lend a hand. And she was right! She identified plants and helped the students place them. She also took these fine photos.
