Turtle Flats 3rd Annual Bird Count: Sunday, March 17
The Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council and the Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah are collaborating to perform the 3rd annual bird count at Turtle Flats! Turtle Flats is our 63-acre property where we are doing extensive floodplain restoration. This site, where the Coast Fork and Middle Fork of the Willamette River come together, is host to a diversity of species. Birders will survey a portion of the area, including some of the old gravel ponds. The survey will contribute valuable bird data over time as restoration takes place at the site. Birders of all ability levels are welcome to participate. Space is limited and fills up quickly. Register Here.
Program Meetings
Our monthly program meetings have something for everyone. During the last year we hosted programs by naturalists, wildlife artists and expert birders on a variety of topics from the birds of Hawaii, to ravens, wolves, and people, to the migration of red knots. Participating in a program meeting is a fun way to get involved with Coast to Cascades Bird Alliance. Meetings are free and open to all.
We are currently meeting on Zoom and in-person as conditions allow on the 4th Tuesday of each month between September and May at 7:00 p.m.
